Beautiful folks are more popular and likeable in our books. A beautiful person gets the best of everything, or that’s what we generally believe. But being beautiful can be a disadvantage. As reported by BBC, two psychologists researched and found this out. Here are few downsides of being beautiful:
More expectations: If you are beautiful, it is expected of you to be amazing at all other departments too. There’s always a pressure on you to do exceptionally well in other things too.
Jealousy: Being attractive can make others jealous of you and they can try to pull you down.
Beautiful women face sexism: Gorgeous looking men are considered leaders but attractive women are less likely to get promoted at higher levels. They have to face harsh sexism.
Less attention in medical care: If you are beautiful, your illness or disease is considered less serious. This is because people also associate beauty with health. A doctor is likely to less serious to your disease if you’re beautiful than other patients.
Less interaction with attractive people: People are less likely to interact with perfect looking people. Even on online dating sites/apps, people with flawless appearances get fewer dates than their simple looking counterparts.
It shows, beauty can be a bane too. Do you still want to look most beautiful or most handsome?
