There are no limits to learning and education, even Amitabh Bachchan’s most famous TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who wants to be a Millionaire?) is also trying to prove that from so long. After Prime Minister, now in just simple Indian language, ‘A chai walla bhaiya‘ has become the Brand Ambassador of Education, Maharashtra.
Recently, Somnath Giram, a 28-year old tea vendor from Pune has been selected as the Brand Ambassador of Education by Maharashtra authority but what is so special by him? He is just a normal tea vendor so why only he was selected as the Brand Ambassador? Such questions arise in your mind, right?
Somnath Giram is the son of a poor farmer who didn’t had enough money to complete his education, but he had a dream. A dream which took him so high. He only wanted to study and become a CA so after being unable to continue his studies, Somnath left his hometown and BCom course in 2008 only to open a tea stall.
As his business grew, he decided to continue his dream to become a CA and spent whole shady nights studying. In an interview with the DNA, Somnath said, ”It was in 2008 that I landed in Pune with an empty pocket and no skill to try hands on. I managed to open a small chai tapri (tea-stall) in Sadashiv Peth area. The business grew along with my desire to pursue higher studies. I sat late into nights, studying.“
Life is wonderful and plays many but confusing games. Somnath Giram only wanted to study and never knew he will achieve something this big. His education didn’t only helped him in achieving his dream but it also made him an inspiration for the youth to get inspired from and study.
Somnath Giram is a CA now but his tea stall still exists. He has already inspired many people and has changed their view of thinking too, now people have started respected labouring caste too and such discrimination doesn’t exist. We hope to see such more inspirations in the country as they are good for the future of this country as well as the future of its people.
