Harnaam Kaur, a 25-year-old Indian Origin from Slough, Berkshire, has made history by becoming the first bearded woman to hit the runway for a celebrity designer.
Harnaam Kaur was bullied at a young age due to her facial hair, so much so that she even contemplated suicide in her teen years. She spent years removing the hair and trying to hide her condition. Kaur has polycystic ovary syndrome, a hormonal condition that causes growth of excess facial hair.
Recently she was also in Rock n Roll Bride Magazine’s Bridal Body Confidence.
But after deciding to be baptised a Sikh at age 16, Harnaam says she learned to accept how she looked. She is now very confident of her looks. She became a model for jewellery designer Marianna Harutunian’s show in London. She wore the traditional Sikh turban, a navy black dress and black heels.
She previously made headlines when her bridal photo shoot went viral.
