India’s First Bullet Train Will Dive Into Water From Thane In Mumbai

According to a senior Ministry official working on this thrilling underwater bullet train project, a special 21 km long tunnel has been made under the sea on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad 508 km rail route only to support the travel of India’s first bullet train. The train will dive under the sea at the stretch which comes after Thane and leads towards Virar whereas the rest of the journey of this train will remain elevated only.
But What Did It Cost To The Country?
Every great thing comes at a great price, this project has also been estimated to cost around Rs 97,636 crore to India but thanks to Japan who is aiding our country in this project and will loan us about 81% of the total cost including construction and import duties.
Indian Railways have also allotted Rs 200 crore for the development of India’s first bullet train with Maharashtra and Gujrat having the equity of 25 percent each and the railways having 50 percent.
How Fast Will This Bullet Train Be?
This bullet train is expected to cover the distance of 508 km in about two hours, reaching its destination in such a short time with the operating speed of 320 kmph and the maximum speed of 350 kmph which is very fast if compared to the Durunto Express which takes about seven hours to cover this distance.
Will It Be Completed Successfully In Time?
For the project to be finished in time, a joint committee has also been formed under the surveillance of vice-chairman of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog along with the officials of Departments of Economic Affairs, Department of Foreign Ministry, Â Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and Railway Board Chairman.
