India’s first day at the track and field events was a horrible one with none of the competitors qualifying to the next round. It began with Jinson Johnson in the 800m Heats, went to Vikas Gowda in Discuss Throw and finished with disappointment for Ankit Sharma, Muhammed Anas and brilliant medal hope Dutee Chand. On day 2, the field has diminished extensively with just three competitors in action.
The activity will be galvanized to the extent India is concerned by experienced names like Lalita Babar and Sudha Singh in the 3000m Steeplechase event. This will later be trailed by Nirmala Sheoran in the 400m inclination. Additionally, Lalita and Sudha are relied upon to at least book their place in the finals of their respective events. Lets hope that India will be tasting the medal taste very soon.
