There are many items, we use every day that could potentially be hazardous to our health. Actually, we are exposed to many different harmful chemicals on a daily basis. There are common household items that contain harmful levels of toxins that are easily absorbed by the body. But what if these so-called common things give you cancer?
The following household items are linked to cancer;
Shampoos contain chemicals that include sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), parfum/fragrance, parabens, synthetic colours, and more. Head and Shoulders “Dry Scalp 2-in-1” product contain methylchloroisothiazolinone, which is a suspected mutagen.
2. Artificial Sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners are highly toxic. Here is the list:
- Aspartame can be deadly for people with phenylketonuria.
- Saccharin cause bladder cancer, also it is indigestible and gets excreted by the liver unchanged.
- Acesulfame K may be carcinogenic, causes tumours and affects pregnancy.
- Sorbitol is only partially digested in the intestines, causing diarrhoea, bloating and gas.
3. Air Fresheners
Fumes from Air fresheners are more dangerous than cigarette smoke. They have been known to cause respiratory conditions such as:
- Hormone imbalance
- Respiratory conditions such as asthma
4. Plastic Bottles And Food Containers
The chemicals present in plastic bottles accumulate in our body. One chemical know to transfer is Bisphenol A. In 2010 the FDA expressed “some concern” over the effect of the chemical.
Saccharin and Fluoride, both found in toothpaste are known carcinogens.
6. Flea and Tick Treatment
Flea and tick treatments can be proved as very toxic. Fipronil is found in many liquid fleas and tick treatments which could cause:
- Seizures and dizziness
7. Antibacterial soap
Antibacterial soaps contain an ingredient called Triclosan which spurs the growth of drug-resistant bacteria, Interferes with hormone levels in animals and increases the risk of cancer.
8. Non-Stick Cookware
Non-stick varieties of cookware are created using a synthetic coating of polytetrafluoroethylene, Teflon, a plastic polymer that will actually release toxins when heated to 450 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
Mothballs contain an ingredient called Naphthalene which can cause Hemolytic Anemia (it destroys red blood cells!) and kidney damage.
10. Commercial cleaning products
Cleaning commercial product chemicals have been known to cause respiratory disorders and are disruptive to hormones.
