After a dastardly terrorist attack on February 14 in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir where India lost more than 45 CRPF Jawans now another sad news is around the corner. India lost 16 police commandos in an IED blast by Maoists in Maharashtra.

The Maoist terrorists have attacked a van carrying police commandos in the insurgents’ stronghold in western India. Police officer Sharad Shelar says the Mao terrorists triggered a land mine blast in the forested Gadchiroli area in Maharashtra state as the vehicle was passing through.

In the last month of April, 37 Maoists were killed by Indian security forces in two separate gun battles in the same region. To let you know, the Maoist rebels, who claim inspiration from Chinese revolutionary leader Mao Zedong, have been fighting India’s government for more than 40 years, demanding land and jobs for tenant farmers and the poor.

Maoists are active in several parts of India. Martyred police commandos belonged to the C-60 police force. This force includes only 60 commandos. They get trained specially to fight against Maoist militants. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and wrote:
