Rajpur village Sarpanch Pati Sevaram Sahu said that due to starvation and lack of proper care, over 200 cows have died in a shelter owned by BJP Leader Harish Verma Patre in Chattisgarh. The district administration learnt about the cow death only after the local villagers had filed the complaint.
According to The New Indian Express, Dhamda block sub-divisional magistrate Rajesh Patre confirmed this tragic news. He also stated that the cows died either due to “starvation or lack of proper care”.
A team is formed which is led by deputy director of animal husbandry to investigate the matter.
The New Indian Express tried to contact the district collector Umesh Kumar Agrawal but he didn’t respond.
