A 25-year-old software engineer in Andhra Pradesh has committed suicide due to lack of job security in IT Industry. Gopikrishna Durgaprasad had started working three days ago for an IT company has jumped from the sixth floor of a hotel in Vimannagar area in Pune.
He left behind a suicide note which reads as: “In IT there is no job security. I am worried a lot about my family.”
Earlier, Gopikrishna had worked in Delhi, Hyderabad and started working in Pune a few days ago. The company had provided him accommodation at a hotel in Viman Nagar.
According to The Indian Express, Assistant police inspector Dilip Jaisingkar said: “Around 1.40 am on Wednesday, he jumped from the balcony of his sixth-floor room. Two on-duty security guards heard a loud sound and rushed to the spot. They informed the hotel manager, who in turn informed us. We called the ambulance and he was rushed to the hospital. He was declared dead before arrival.”
As per part of the investigation, the police is speaking to his colleagues and also with his family members.
