The nomination list for the India’s most prestigious film award, Filmfare has out now! Many big names have shot up their eyebrows because of the nominations of three Pakistani stars Fawad Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam in the different categories.

No doubt, the all three of them possess the talent and deserve the award for their contribution in their respective field. However, the timing does not seem appropriate as the Pakistani actors are currently banned from working in the country. Chances are they are not likely to come to collect their awards even if they do win.

A prominent filmmaker whose films have won a number of awards in the past said that he will not be going to attend the award ceremony and neither I will accept any awards at a function if these Pakistani stars will be welcomed. The filmmaker said,

“It’s a matter of self-respect. We are not welcome in Pakistan. They brutally kill and maim our soldiers. And we behave as if our cinema can’t do without their artists.”

BJP spokesperson, social worker and fashion designer Shaina NC said,

“Relations with Pakistan have deteriorated to such an extent that there is a move now to declare Pakistan a terror state on an international level. Given the current crisis, I don’t think we can have Pakistani artistes coming here.”
