Greetings, dear friends! More than two years have passed since the last season of “Game of Thrones“, but this is not a reason to be upset, because even such a cult series may have its own replacement.
1) Foundation (2021)
Genre: science fiction, drama
Apple TV continues to pay great attention to its streaming and is preparing to release a large-scale project in the genre of science fiction on September 24, based on the series of novels of the same name by Isaac Asimov. Events unfold in the distant future, where people have settled on different planets. Prominent scientist Gary Seldon invents the science of psychohistory and finds out that their planet is about to die. In order to save civilization, the hero creates the Foundation organization.
2) Westworld (2016)
Genre: science fiction, drama
I remember that after the release of the first season of “Westworld” there was talk that finally there was a worthy replacement for “Game of Thrones”. The series was written by Jonathan Nolan, the screenwriter for most of Christopher Nolan’s films. Hence the non-linear narrative, and twisted storylines, and gorgeous climax scenes. And all this accompanied by the bewitching music of Ramin Javadi, composer of Game of Thrones – what else is needed for happiness?
3) The Lord of the Rings (2022)
Genre: fantasy, action
Recently, the studio Amazon showed the first frame from the series “The Lord of the Rings”, which most likely depicts the kingdom of “The Lord of the Rings”. This fragment is taken from the first episode, and a record amount of money was given to the series itself – one billion dollars. By comparison, the debut season of Game of Thrones was only worth $ 90 million.
4) House of the Dragon (2022)
Genre: fantasy, action
Next year, the creators of “Game of Thrones” promised to release the first prequel, which will tell about the Targaryen clan. According to the plot, its members will leave the doomed Valyria and go west, where they will find a large territory with warring kingdoms. Based on the first footage, we can assume that we will face the same large-scale project as the original series.
5) The Mandalorian (2019)
Genre: adventure, action
The series greatly expanded the Star Wars universe and added even more epic battles to it. From the first shots, there is a feeling that the heroes were thrown even further from civilization: to places where laws do not work. The second season of “The Mandalorian” continues to tell about the journey of a brave warrior who does not want to show his appearance. A new season is expected next year.
