As the Bhaijaan Salman Khan is the jaan of Bollywood how can we ignore him! Entering at number one position Sultan became the highest grossing movie of 2016 with a colossal box office collection of Rs 300.45 crores.
2. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story:
Based on the real-life story of India’s Best Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, this film really made big on the screen. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, this movie became the second highest grosser of the year by collecting Rs.133.0 crores.
Ranjit Katyal really won our hearts along with making it really big on the box office. Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer this patriotic movie collected Rs 128.1 crores.
Another Biopic in the list Rustom successfully won the hearts of the audience. Based on the real-life incident of the Indian naval Officer K.M. Nanavati and businessman Prem Ahuja this film collected Rs 127 crores on the box office.
5. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil:
The multi-starrer film of Karan Johar ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ collected 112.1 crores on box office. Although expectations were made high from the mark from this movie, however, it managed to enter in 100 crore club somehow.
Well, this list is not final as the recently release film Dangal is running with the flying colors. It supposes to be a blockbuster of the year with the highest collection!
