5 Mysterious Murder Cases That Left India Baffled And Are Still Unsolved

Murder, one will get goosebumps if heard this word in real life. Death is one of the hardest things that human beings have to cope with. Some die of natural death but some are so unfortunate that they are being murdered. They say the law is a supreme power after God that punish a culprit who murders someone. But what if the law fails to identify that culprit? Whom to question? The thought is very fearful. Some people are so unfortunate that they don’t get justice even after dying. Here is a list of 7 murders that shook the nation as a whole and to date, their perpetrators have not been caught.

1) Arushi Talwar – Hemraj Banjade

The year 2008 filled all the news channels with a sensational news that shook the nation. It was Arushi Murder case. A shocking double murder in Noida that remains a mystery because of shoddy investigations and disinformation surrounding it. The 14 years old Arushi was found with her throat slit, presented years of twists and turns. While the domestic help, Hemraj was initially accused, the body of their Nepalese domestic help was also found within days. The issue with this case is that it was so hyped up by the media that actual facts were overlooked. However, the parents of Arushi Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were eventually convicted.

2) Amar Singh Chamkila

He was a singer or a stage performer. He was a fearless Punjabi rebel who was gunned down by a gang of motorcyclists in broad daylight. Amar had been the victim of numerous death threats by Khalistani militants because of his revolutionary lyrics. He was married to Amarjot Kaur who was also his co-performer. They both were shot dead in Mehsampur, Punjab, on 8 March 1988 at approximately 2 o’clock. Amarjot was pregnant at the time. No arrests were ever made in this connection and the case has never been solved.


3) Lal Bahadur Shastri

The 2nd prime Minister of India died of a suspicious death in a foreign land at a time of war. He was died at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Theories claims he was died of cardiac arrest. But facts says another story. It was 2 P.M. in Tashkent, Russia, and his death occurred the day after signing the Tashkent Declaration. No post-mortem report was made and thus theories emerged of him being murdered by poisoning.

4) Sunanda Pushkar

Sunanda Pushkar was a businessperson and wife of Indian diplomat and politician Shashi Tharoor. She was found dead in room number 345 of the Leela Palace hotel in Chanakyapuri , New Delhi. Shashi Tharoor discovered her body, on 17th January, 2014. Sunanda was suspected to have committed suicide. Later reports stated that the cause of death was unnatural. Some injury marks on her body was found which may or may not be the cause of her death.

5) Divya Bharti

The death of a 19 years old successful actress shook the whole nation. Even today her death is still mystery and hanging between was it a murder or an accident? On 5th april 1993, she fell down from a 5th story of her apartment building. Her death is still a mystery.
