Apple recently unveiled the next version of its iOS — iOS 10 at WWDC event last week. While the iOS users seem extremely excited about this new operating system, android users already have access to many of its features!! Let us now throw some light on the hyped up iOS 10 features which the android platform has already provided to its users.
1) Flash Of Notifications On Locked Screen
iOS 10 flashes a completely revamped lock screen, drawing alot of similarity from the Android screen. iOS 10 now comes with a new lock screen with more interactive notifications and card-style design, which has been there in Android since the launch of Lollipop 5.0. The only stealer which Apple possibly offers is 3D Touch support, which allows users to perform actions on the lock screen. Although, some apps like WhatsApp already offers this function on Android but is not a system wide feature offered by the Google.
2) Traffic Info, Additional Stops And More In Apple Maps
Apple has seemingly added some new features to its Apple Maps such as traffic information, additional haults in your route to the final destination and third party integration. Google has already intoduced this feature on its GoogleMaps application.
3) Clear All
Even the basic android version seems to flaunt this feature of clearing all the notifications with a single click which Apple users were devoid of. Better late then never, Apple finally offers this feature!!
4) Sort Contents In ApplePhotos
Undergoing a revamp, both in terms of design and under the hood. The ApplePhotos App can now successfully sort images and videos on the basis of Name, Faces, Time and Place. This is another feature which has long been part of GooglePhotos App.
5) The Virtual Assisstant – Siri
Siri has already paved its way to the hearts of many Android users but never was the favourite of iOS developers. The reason being that until now Apple allowed a very small number of developers to access the virtual assistant and create apps that support Siri. But now Siri is open to third party developers via an API.
Google without the personality of Siri has allowed outside apps support for over a year now.
6) Wake On Movement
‘Rise to wake up’ is another feature that has made its debut in the iOS 10. Many phones like Moto G and Moto X offer this feature known as Ambient Dispaly on android platform. This feature activates itself once you raise up your device and then you can easily view all your notifications.
