It is never too late to learn, that’s what the senior Bachchan has also taught us in his popular TV show KBC but the live example is provided to us this wonderful 68yrs old Nepal student, Durga Kami.
Durga Kami have six children and eight grandchildren and is spending his life alone after his wife’s demise. In his childhood, due to poverty, he was unable to complete his dream of becoming a teacher. Fortunately, this wonderful Nepal Student now does have some great adventures to share:
Durga Kami leaves his isolated room behind to visit the Shree Kala Bhairab higher secondary school in Nepal. He studies in class 10 and his fellow classmates call him by the name “Baa” which means father in Nepal.
As an aid. D.R Koirala is the school teacher who invited him to the school and provides him full stationary and school uniform. “This is my first experience teaching a person who is as senior as my father’s age. I feel very excited and happy,” said D.R Koirala.
His classroom is full of 14 and 15-year-old students. This is what one of them has to say about this inspiring Nepal student – “I used to think ‘why is this old man coming to school to study with us?’ but as time passed I enjoyed his company.”
“To forget my sorrows, I go to school,” said Durga Kami. “If they see an old person with white beard like me studying in school they might get motivated as well,” He added.
Studying at this age is definitely difficult for him. His house even experiences several power cuts during which he studies with a torch. Unlike any other normal student, this 68yr old Nepal student really knows to never give up.
He has even applied for the upcoming School Leavers Certificate Exams in Syangja, Nepal. For that purpose, he needed his school teacher’s help which the teacher proudly provided.
It only takes some will to learn and thank you Durga Kami for inspiring us all.
