The seven places that cannot be seen on Google maps include border between the US and Mexico, the Volkel Air Base, the National Security Bureau of Taiwan, Israel etc. Google spokesperson Deanna Yick told Mashable, “The satellite and aerial imagery in Google Earth and Google Maps are sourced from a wide range of both commercial and public sources. These third-party providers are required to follow the law of the countries in which they operate, so some of them may blur images and then supply us with those images.”
1. The Royal Residence, The Netherlands
The Royal Palace of Amsterdam in the Netherlands — called Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam — joins a long list of places blurred on Google Maps.
It is located on the border between Germany and France, is the location of the NATO Air Base. This location appears completely blurred on Google Maps.
3. Buffalo Niagara International Airport
The Buffalo Niagara International Airport is largely whited out on Google Maps and details can’t be seen when the area is zoomed in.
4. Rio Grande
The border between the US and Mexico is mostly marked by the Rio Grande. However, one part of the river, near Hudspeth County in Texas, is blurred on Google Maps.
5. Babylon, Iraq
The city of Babylon, Iraq looks more like endless farmland than a city.
6. Volkel Air Base
It is located halfway between the cities of Eindhoven a_nd Nijmegen. According to data released by Wikileaks, 22 nuclear bombs from the Cold War were hidden there by the US army.
7. Tantauco National Park, Chile
It can only be seen from a marker via Google Maps.
