Mean Girls feels so relevant that it’s hard to believe it came out in 2004. The movie might have been created much more recently. Despite their differences, millennials will always be united by one cultural event: Mean Girls. The 2004 comic classic has been so ingrained in people’s thoughts and has created a common language that even Generation Z finds it endearing. These are seven unforgettable memories.
Cady derives her first ever plastic look
Gretchen was known to be a ditz, and Karen was no exception. Gretchen was labeled as gossip by Janis, and Damian continued, “That’s why her hair is so big; it’s full of secrets.” Fans started to find out that Janis had some bad history with Regina, which is why she was worried about Cady getting involved in their reality. Janis deemed Regina to be pure evil.
Jingle Bell Rock – The Ultimate
As Cady assiduously integrated herself into their culture, she was assigned to perform Jingle Bell Rock with the Plastics at the Winter Talent Show. She gave it her all and did a fantastic job. When Cady started singing the song by herself, the crowd and the Plastics quickly joined in, applauding and singing along. This saved the day.
Regina’s mother quoting, ‘I’m a cool mom’
When the mother of Regina says, “I’m not a regular mom; I’m a cool mom.” She badly wanted to blend in with her daughter’s teenage friends, and part of the humor was that she was wearing a pink velour sweatsuit that looked like it had been taken from Regina’s closet.
When Cady reminded Aaron that it was October 3rd
When Aaron inquired about the day of class, Cady, who had become fond of him, answered, “It’s October 3rd.” Because he respected Cady’s brilliance, Aaron seemed interested in dating her. Though this seemed like a totally harmless and spontaneous incident, it immediately became the subject of several memes, and October 3rd is now formally recognized as Mean Girls Day.
The frantic phone call
Gretchen was on the other end of the telephone, so she could hear all of the gossip that Cady and Regina were talking about her. Without even aware that she was speaking to Gretchen, Karen teased her. Because it addressed the poisonous power relations inside this group, this scene was among the most important ones in the movie.
The most celebrated scene- You Can’t Sit With Us
One Monday, Regina showed up for school wearing sweatpants, and Karen told her, “That’s against the rules, and you can’t sit with us.” These were Regina’s rules, and she had previously enforced them.Gretchen lost her temper, claiming that they had been abiding by Regina’s rules for many years and that she was powerless to violate them at this point.
When Regina asked, ‘Is butter a carb?’
Cady was famously questioned, “Is butter a carb?” by Regina. whenever she felt like starting a diet. Despite the fact that it was fats, Cady answered “Yes.” Regina was also entirely responsible for it as she was constantly more focused on her own appearance than anything else.
