Recently Hollywood film Avengers: Endgame broke the record of Avatar and became the highest-grossing film ever. However, to let you know, 80 years old film Gone with the Wind is still the true box office king. But there is a catch, Gone with the Wind was re-released a few number of times. It had seven national releases between its initial run in 1939, and 1974, which is 35 years of opportunity to add to its theatrical total.
However, Avengers: Endgame has gotten one boosting “Re-Release” before its initial theatrical run was done, and three decades is a long time to make up the difference in earnings. According to Amazon’s website Box Office Mojo, if the earnings of this movie are seen from today’s ticket price (average $ 9.01), then it earned around Rs 12,575 crore in the domestic market. While the total revenue of Endgame is Rs 5,903 crore. Over 20.1 million tickets of Gone with the Wind have been sold in the last 80 years. Whereas 9.5 million tickets of the Avengers Endgame sold in the US domestic market.
