There are countless horror films in which children become aware of scary, evil entities in the house while the parents seem to be unaware. The new horror film Separation , from the director behind The Boy , (2016) also belongs in this list. Watch the trailer below.
In Separation , eight-year-old Jenny ( Violet McGraw ) finds herself constantly between her arguing parents: lawyer Maggie ( Mamie Gummer ) and artist Jeff ( Rupert Friend ). That’s why she lives a lonely life seeking escape among her dolls called ‘Grisly Kin’, which are based on her father’s work.

When Maggie tragically dies, Jeff and Jenny try to start a new life. When Maggie’s dad ( Brian Cox ) tries to take custody of Jenny and babysitter Samantha ( Madeline Brewer ) tries to be the new woman in the house, dark things start to happen.
The dolls and terrifying figures come to life and only Jenny can see them. When the intentions of these terrifying creatures become clear, it turns out that the lives of everyone in and around the house are in danger.
Separation is a film by director William Brent Bell ( The Devil Inside , The Boy ,Brahms: The Boy II ). The horror movie will be released in the United States on April 30.
