Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha which have turned tables in the OTT platform have unperformed at the box office. However, the actor is still considered as ‘Mr Perfectionist’ of the film. The former who was critically judged for his unusual Punjabi accent had interestingly trained himself to get the perfect pitch of in the language with a perfect delivery.
In a recently published behind-the-scenes clip by Netflix, the actor elucidates that he chose to avoid the quintessential tone of Punjabi language as people might not be able to decipher it completely. Therefore, he tried to keep a balance and maintain an equilibrium so that the audience could connect well with the character.
However, he received backlash from his ex-wife Kiran Rao who made a point that this is a Hindi movie thus, Aamir should pitch down his Punjabi tone a bit. Responding to the statement made by the former, he said “Agar mein theth Punjabi bolunga toh baki logon ko nahi samaj aayega… aapko samaj aa jayega.”
Kiran who also happens to be the producer o the film told that “I always knew that it was too much.” However, Aamir have been consistent in managing the nitty-gritty of his character, especially he aimed to instilling a measured innocence which was carried proficiently in Forrest Gump, the original.
