Aamir Khan has made a fascinating disclosure about his forthcoming release ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The movie is directed by Advait Chandan and is adapted from the hit Hollywood movie ‘Forrest Gump’. During recent promotions, Aamir uncovered that his son Junaid had likewise shot for a test video and auditioned for the lead role. The elated father uncovered that Junaid, who has studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles, was a perfect fit for the role. Aamir and Junaid both shot for a test clip for the film.
“As soon as I saw the test video, I was blown away. I knew mera chance gaya (I thought my chance has gone). That innocence of Laal that we were planning to get was out there while I would have to act it out. The innocence on his face was Laal Singh and I would have had to work incredibly hard to get there. I don’t have that innocence anymore and he did that naturally. Junaid was simply outstanding and I felt he was the right guy to play the part,” said Aamir Khan, who had shown the test video to nearly 100 people which includes directors like Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra. In any case, scriptwriter Atul Kulkarni and maker Aditya Chopra were keen that Aamir should do the movie. The actor had apparently shaved off his beard since talks were on to cast Junaid, however since the film demanded an established actor, Aamir returned to growing his beard.
Kareena Kapoor Khan portrays the leading lady in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which marks the Bollywood debut of Naga Chaitanya. The movie is set to release on August 11.
