Kareena Kapoor quit Hrithik Roshan’s debut film Kaho Na Pyar Hai and chose to work in Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan in 2000. The film went flop. On the other hand, Ameesha Patel tasted success, she went on to give one more blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and when everyone was seeing her next big star of Bollywood, she stumbled upon. She got failed in her next films but Kareena Kapoor rose as a superstar.
Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta
The two beauty queen who conquered the world in 2000, Miss Universe Lara Dutta and Miss World Priyanka Chopra, started their journey in the films as a lead star together in a film Andaz opposite Akshay Kumar in 2001. But Lara Dutta failed to make a mark whereas Priyanka Chopra emerged as a global icon. She is active both in Bollywood and Hollywood.
Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen
Another batch of beauty queens from 1994, Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and Miss World Aishwarya Rai. Sush’s career as compared to Aish has remained an average one. Sushmita always appeared in a supporting actress role. Aishwarya being 45 years old, is still active in Bollywood and has given a number of superhit films.
Preity Zinta and Mahima Chaudhary
They both started their careers in 1998. Mahima Chaudhary’s debut film Pardes was a huge hit at the box office even then, she failed to make a mark. Whereas Preity Zinta went on to save a place in the list of hit actresses of Bollywood.
