The Mumbai University which was established in 1857 is one of the oldest and most renowned universities across the country. This decades’ year old state university is one of the largest universities in the world with more than 60 departments offering a wide range of undergraduate courses and graduate courses to the students coming from different parts of the world. Undergraduate BE/B. Tech. and B.Arch Course
Mumbai University grants Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and B. Arch programs at the undergraduate level. The courses that are taught at the institute include BE in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile, Information Technology, Computer Engineering among others, while Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Chemical technology come under the B. Tech course. The admission to these courses is based on the Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) which is organized by the Maharashtra Government. The university offers five years B.Arch. Program and four years B.E./ B.Tech programs in different streams which the students can choose as per their qualification and area of interest.

The university offers a five-year integrated Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) + Master of Business Administration (MBA) course. The applicants need at least 45% marks in Class-10+2 from any recognized board to appear in the entrance test. The students get admission to the BMS+MBA program based on their performance in the Mumbai University Common Management Entrance Test (MUCMET).

The course is designed in such a way that makes the study environment more interactive and versatile, and the structure of the course allows the students to opt for Major and Minor specialization during their first year of studies. Some of the course specializations that the students can consider include Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and International Business, which in turn makes Mumbai University one of the most sought after universities.
At the undergraduate level, the university offers two five-year integrated courses to the eligible candidates who want to pursue a career in law along with arts or business administration. The programs taught at the university include Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) along with Bachelor of Laws (BBA+LLB and BA+LLB), whose minimum eligibility criteria are at least 45% marks at 10+2 level. Mumbai University Common Law Entrance Test is conducted to select the eligible candidates for the course.
USP of the course- The combined course, which was started by the university a few years ago, offers a bachelor’s in business administration with the law to the students coming from different parts of the country. Also, the infrastructure of the colleges offering BBA/BA+LLB courses is good, and the students are offered all kinds of facilities like a library, computer law, and the moot court set among many others.
B. SC Course
For the students belonging to the science stream, there are unlimited career options that they can consider while studying at Mumbai University. For the science students, the university offers some interesting undergraduate courses in multiple disciplines which include Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Hospitality Studies, Aeronautical Science, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Forensic Sciences, Polymer Chemistry, Maritime Science, Information Technology, Aviation, Avionics, Sports Management, among many other fields. The admission procedure of these courses differ from each other as the admission in some of the courses are given based on the merit while for some other courses, the students need to give an entrance test.

The applicants need to get an aggregate score of 50% in 10+2 (from any recognized board) to begin their careers in this filed. The admission process at Mumbai University
The admission in different UG and PG programs at the University of Mumbai mostly starts in the last week of May, the admissions to these programs are offered based on the merit list created accordingly to the marks of the candidates in the qualifying entrance examination. The candidates scoring high in the qualifying entrance exam also have higher chances to get their names in the better merit list of Mumbai University admissions.
