Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s telecom undertaking Reliance Jio has proved to be a big success which has shook the existing of cellular industry giants. Now Reliance Jio has its eye on another business sector in India. But this time company will compete with domestic – Ola Cabs as well as with International entity – Uber.
A high level team from Ambani’s Reliance group is sincerely working on enter the ‘taxi-cab’ service in India. The service is expected to begin by the end of this year.
Reliance is most likely to launch ‘Jio Cabs’, and with a plan to outperform already buzzing services from Ola and Uber, the Jio taxi service is expected to start before the end of this year. According to the reports, Reliance has already ordered more than 600 cars for Jio cab service. The services will begin in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai.
Reliance Jio acquired 100 million customers in just 170 days since its commercial launch, Jio cab service will plan to do the same. Ola and Uber, who already are under stern pressure from the cab drivers, Reliance may able to revolutionise another business sector in India.
Reportedly, the Jio cab service is expected to launch between April and July this year. Reliance may offer services like free WiFi, lower cab fares and easy payment system. An official announcement from CEO Mukesh Ambani would hit the news anytime soon regarding Reliance’s new venture.
