In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the festival was launched on January 7. Every year, the International Kite Festival is organized in Gujarat on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. This time the festival will run till 14 January.

Gujarat Tourism supports this festival and the main event of this festival takes place on the Sabarmati River Front in Ahmedabad.
