Tamil cinema star Ajith Kumar, as per the latest media reports has finished the Bangkok segment of his new work, Thunivu, helmed by H Vinoth. It is also revealed that few sections are yet to shot and is in the verge of a pack up. There has some speculations in the air that Thunivu will hit the cinemas on Pongal, next year which might perhaps clash with the release schedule of Vijay’s Varisu. If the speculations are turned to be true, then it might leave the Tamil audience in a trying spot.
The social media is brimming with polls and discussion concerning the box office clash starring the stars of Tamil cinema. Several critics took to the Twitter to express their speculations and estimations. Prashanth Rangaswamy (@itisprashanth) wrote, “Theater owners will never like a clash between #Varisu and #Thunivu. Let’s wait for their release dates”. Ramesh Bala (@rameshlaus) mentioned , “Actor #AK’s #Thunivu Bangkok schedule is complete.. Team exploring #Pongal2023 release.” Sreedhar Pillai (@sri50) wrote, “Looks like a epic clash is brewing for #Pongal2023: #ThalapathyVijay #Varisu V/S #AjithKumar #Thunivu”.
Even before, Ajith and Vijay’s movies were clashed on the same dates back then in 2014, in which the results were favorable for Ajith. Veeram outperformed fronting the adjacently released movie Jilla.
Thunivu, also starring Manju Warrier is expected to be an action-based thriller movie while Vijay’s Varisu is a light family drama packed with entertainment.
