Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar-starrer period show Samrat Prithviraj has been banned in Kuwait and Oman, only two or three days before its release. The historical epic portrays the story of king Prithviraj Chauhan, who safeguarded India from outside intruders such as Muhammad of Ghor.
The news of Samrat Prithviraj facing a ban in the two middle-eastern nations was shared by Girish Johar on his Twitter handle. “In a development, Govt of Kuwait & Oman have banned #SamratPrithviraj … they will not be released there!”

While the purpose for the unexpected ban is still unknown, the move comes when the film has making all the right noises. “It is highly unfortunate that a film that is based on our glorious Hindu Samrat Prithviraj’s life and courage has been banned in some international markets like Kuwait and Oman. It seems that these countries have taken this stand in the run-up to the film’s release,” a senior trade source was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express.
