Akshay Kumar is now braced up to make his debut in Marathi as Shivaji in Mahesh Manjrekar’s film. The actor will play the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the movie titled Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat. Bankrolled by Vaseem Qureshi, the movie revolves around seven warriors who work towards bringing Swarajya to reality, which Shivaji Maharaj aimed for.
The mahurat of the event came in as a highlight, as on Tuesday Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was also present at the spot.
Spilling the tea about his debut in the movie, the actor said, “It’s a dream come true role for me. I think to portrsay Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen is a very huge responsibility. I was taken aback when Raj sir asked me to portray this role. I feel so good to be playing this part and it’s going to be a dream come true role for me. Also, I will be working for the first time with director Mahesh Manjrekar, and it is going to be an experience.”
