Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, was chosen to represent the Maybelline cosmetics company as its brand ambassador. Some even mocked her on social media, claiming that she only received the agreement since her father is famous, and some even questioned what she had accomplished in her career to merit it. Suhana ‘absolutely deserved’ to be the brand’s face, according to Alaya F.
In conversation with RJ Siddharth Kanan, Alaya mentioned about Suhana, “People often forget it that at the end of the day, whether it’s brands or films, it’s a business and decisions are made with thought. Lineage is not something that should be discarded and treated lightly. Lineage takes a lot of effort to build. All you have to do is live upto it. So it happens to everyone. Specially when you come from a family that’s just in the spotlight but I think you just have to do your best to live upto all the wonderful opportunities and make the most of it.”
She further added, “No one does anything just like that. There is obviously thought and value that was brought on by her being a part of it. So in whatever way, it was totally deserved. You can’t blame someone for the opportunities that they get, you just have to hope that they make the most of it.”
The Indian adaptation of the classic comic book series The Archies is Suhana’s first production, and it will air on OTT juggernaut Netflix later this year. The Archies, a coming-of-age tale created by Tiger Baby and Graphic India, will expose the youngsters of Riverdale to the latest generation in India. Boney Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of the late Sridevi, will make their film debuts as well.
Alaya’s most recent appearance was in Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat by Anurag Kashyap. U-Turn, a horror movie, is her upcoming release.
