Alia Bhatt was awarded as the Best Actress at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival on Monday. The actor was honored with the coveted award for her titular role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. She happen to met veteran actor Rekha during the award ceremony in Mumbai. Rekha also bagged a special honor for her ‘Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry’. The two then posed together for the paparazzi with their trophies on the red carpet.
The actor appeared in a white saree while Rekha chose a golden saree styled with her iconic gajra, a flower adornment on her hair. Ranbir Kapoor received the Best Actor award for Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva.
Prior to receiving the awards, the actors mingled up on the red carpet. They posed for the camera, while Rekha landed a kiss on Alia’s cheek.
On the work front, Alia will be marking her Hollywood debut with Netflix film Heart of Stone with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. She also has Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh.
Rekha last appeared in Super Nani. Thereafter made a special appearance in the films Shamitabh (2015) and Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se (2018) respectively.
