Alia Bhatt is among the well-known face in Bollywood. She is bracing up for her next stint in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. In an interview, recently, actor Churni Ganguly, who is seen as Alia’s mother in the film said that the tag of nepotism cannot be levied on Alia as she is ‘extremely talented.’
Alia Bhatt since her debut in the industry has witnessed much trolling from unusual attention from the audience related to nepotism. She was launched by Karan Johar in 2012, with his film Student of the Year and thereafter people claim that the ride to get films has been smooth for her, especially when she has her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
In conversation with News18, Churni averred, “Alia is one of those performers who’s extremely talented. People speak about nepotism. There’s so much being said. I think nepotism only becomes relevant if the actor isn’t up to the mark and lacks talent. But that’s not the case with Alia. She has proved so film after film. She gets into the skin of her roles just like that. She brings life to a role that she plays. She did the same even in this film. We improvised a lot in some of our scenes and a lot of that came from Alia as well.”
Karan Johar returns again to the bog screen with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani as a director after his 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was released which starred Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. The new film also features coveted actors like Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles.
The trailer showed the lives of the lead characters of Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee, whose way of life is complete opposite. Rocky belongs to a Punjabi family while Rani belongs to a Bengali household wherein knowledge rests above all. When the duo decides to switch families to impress them things doesn’t pan out the way they wanted.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be released on July 28.
