Anatomy of a Fall has received nominated for five Oscars in 2024. The Justine Triet-directed French courtroom drama is vying for the 96th Academy Awards’ Best Picture title.

Sandra Hüller, a German actress, was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in the movie. She plays Sandra Voyter, the primary role played by Samuel Theis. Sandra is an author on trial for her husband Samuel’s unexplained death. Milo Machado Graner plays their son Daniel, a highly regarded child actor. As part of the supporting cast, Antoine Reinartz portrays the prosecutor and Swann Arlaud represents Sandra.
Plot
Sandra Voyter, a well-known German novelist, goes on trial in France in the movie. She is charged with forcing her spouse Samuel to commit suicide at their remote, wintry home.
Daniel, their 11-year-old son, gets caught up in the stressful court processes and media circus while he struggles to deal with his father’s passing and the severity of the legal battle.
Previous accolades
With its unprecedented string of accolades, the movie won the coveted Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. At the Golden Globes earlier this month, it also took home the prizes for Best Screenplay and Best Non-English Language Film.
