Yes, if the title of this article is making you feel that it is not possible then you are wrong, it is true. It seems everybody in India who is a sex offender in past and now is gradually getting exposed in front of everyone and all thanks to #MeToo. After Nana Patekar, Kailash Kher, Chetan Bhagat, Vikas Bahl and Rajat Kapoor – now it’s the ever so Sanskari man of India, Alok Nath who has been accused of rape by Senior TV writer-producer, Vinta Nanda.

Vinta Nanda is a veteran writer-producer who accused actor Alok Nath of raping her 20 years ago. She told PTI,

“It has been ages since I have held onto something that has affected me for 20 years. It has been the nucleus of my every situation. I lost my confidence as a writer and as a human being. It changed me fundamentally. I want someone who did that to me to be punished but I am not saying anything right now as I don’t know what I am going to do next. I did not plan anything.”

On asking why did she not name Nath directly, the writer-producer said there was no fear but she was addressing a specific audience. And it seems that she is saying the truth as Alok Nath finally reacted on her accusations he said, “Kuch to log kahenge.” He added,

“Neither I’m denying this nor would I agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched.”

Such a tumultuous answer!

Vinta also revealed that actress Navneet Nishan also suffered harassment at hands of Alok and she had even slapped him once. And Navneet Nishan has also come forward and lent her support to Vinta, she said,

“I support every woman and man who is standing up for herself/himself in the #MeToo movement. I empathize with Vinta for the terrible pain she has gone through; it is unimaginable. I dealt with the four-year harassment by slapping the man in question and it is done and dusted. l suffered the loss of the show and was further shamed by the man through media and I endured that. I fought my battles there and then. I am immensely glad that the power trip and sexual dominance coming from this power is being called out. It is high time.”
