Amarinder Singh And Kejriwal Engage In Bitter Twitter Fight Again

Aam Aadmi Chief Arvind Kejriwal and Congress leader Amarinder Singh are fighting hard not just in the poll bound lands of Punjab but on twitter as well. Both the politicians are campaigning furiously for the upcoming elections to be held in Punjab and it’s not for the first time that they have engaged in a twitter fight.

This time it began with Amarinder Singh alleging that the Aam Aadmi Party fielding Delhi legislator Jarnail Singh against five-time Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal in his constituency is a under hand deal and collusion between AAP and SAD to ensure Badal’s victory.

Jarnail is a former journalist who is known for having hurled a shoe at then home minister P Chidambaram.

The tweet triggered another round of verbal dual between him and Arvind Kejriwal.

Soon after Singh’s tweet, Arvind Kejriwal hit back asking him whether he would contest against father-son Badal duo, revenue minister Bickram Singh Majithia or eventually opt for a ‘safe’ seat.

To this, Singh replied saying the story of Badals’ is over and that he would very much like to fight Kejriwal himself.

In what seemed like an endless back-and-forth, the AAP leader responded saying Singh and the Congress are not interested in fighting against the Badals or against drugs, but with his party.

Taunting him further, Singh said he has already defeated the Badal-Majithia combine and asked Kejriwal why he was scared to fight against him.

To this, Kejriwal, who has not been having a smooth relationship with the Centre in his current position as the Delhi chief minister, assured Singh that he was not going to personally fight in the elections in Punjab. Bhagwant Mann, the AAP MP from Sangrur and one of the chief ministerial aspirants, has been nominated from Jalalabad, the seat represented by deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

With the elections coming soon, the top leaders are engaging more and more with each other over social media campaigning furiously. The elections which will take place early in 2017, is widely assumed to witness a three sided fight between the AAP, Congress and the ruling SAD-BJP government.
