Actress Ameesha Patel turned herself in on Saturday for involvement with a case involving a 2018 cheque bounce while promoting her forthcoming movie Gadar 2. Soon after, as reported by ANI, the court granted her conditional bail.
Ameesha has been ordered by the court to physically appear on June 21, according to the news agency. Gadar 2, which also stars Sunny Deol, is where she will make her return on the silver screen.The movie picks up where Gadar left off, with Ameesha playing Tara Singh’s love interest Sakina and Sunny as Tara Singh. On August 11, it will open in theatres.
Ameesha met billionaire Ajay Kumar Singh in Ranchi in 2018 while she was there to attend a programme at Harmu Ground, according to ANI, and they spoke about how to finance a movie. He made an investment in the movie endeavour and owns Lovely World Entertainment. He wanted a refund from Ameesha because the movie never even got released. She used a cheque to reimburse the 2.50 crore, but the cheque was returned as unpaid.
Ameesha made headlines in November 2021 for a comparable event when her cheque for 32.25 lakh to UTF Telefilms bounced.
The case hasn’t at all diminished her spirits, though. June 9 was the day she turned 47. She posted a video of her latest birthday celebration on Saturday. Posting a clip, she wrote, “Mumbai … birthday celebrations continue.. Thank u everyone for the belated bday celebrations and all the sweet efforts made by everyone to make it so special.”
It was also revealed on Saturday that Gadar: Ek Prem Katha would have its digital debut in 4K with Dolby Atmos. The epic story of love, patriotism, bravery, and tribulations directed by Anil Sharma and starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, and the late actor Amrish Puri is now available for viewing in 4K resolution. Ameesha shared the movie’s poster on Instagram and said, “Gadar 1 … the newly remastered version now available to rent only on @zee5.”
