Today we are going to tell you about one of India’s Finance Ministers on whose political career Amitabh Bachchan put a full stop. Not only this, opposition even said him a dancer, Nachaniya. Hemavati Nandan Bahuguna, born on April 25, 1919 in Bughani village of Uttarakhand, was the 8th CM of UP. For the first time, the legislator was elected in 1952 by the corporation. He was the CM of UP for 2 times. In 1967-68, as a finance minister he won the hearts of the people by presenting the state’s magnificent Pro-People budget.
In 1984, Amitabh Bachchan stood in Lok Sabha elections after Rajiv Gandhi asked him to do so. He had challenged the area’s legendary leader Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna from Allahabad seat. As a result of being popular among people, Amitabh defeated Bahuguna with more than 1.87 lakh votes. After defeat, Hemwati Nandan moved to Bahuguna Lok Dal and from here its political career collapsed.
When Amitabh was called a dancer or Nachaniya
Opponents bashed Amitabh for his win over Hemwati. The opposition used to call Amitabh as ‘Nachaniya’, because wherever Amitabh used to go, the crowd of his fans gathered. It was difficult for the police to handle their fans. Bahuguna claimed that the crowd was not coming for the leader Amitabh but for the actor Amitabh Bachchan.
