While Karan Johar is in the middle of shooting for his forthcoming directorial, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, his production house is good to go to begin the groundwork for C Sankaran Nair’s biopic.
As per a report in a news portal, Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday have been roped in for the movie. While Akshay will be seen portraying the late lawyer-activist, Ananya will portray a feisty junior lawyer in the film. Albeit young actress is yet to sign the dotted line, reports are rife that she has been finalised for the role. In the event that this works out, it will be the first time Akshay and Ananya first will be seen teaming up for a film.
The courtroom drama has been titled, ‘The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair’ and will be directed by debutant director Karan Singh Tyagi, the report in MidDay stated.
Nair filled in as a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council in 1915, however, resigned after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. The biopic is reportedly based on Raghu and Pushpa Palat’s book, ‘The Case That Shook the Empire’. As per reports, it will narrate the lawyer’s battle against the British Raj to reveal Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O’Dwyer’s role in the massacre.
