Bollywood actor Anupam Kher is one of those unlucky Kashmiri Pandits who was forced to leave Kashmir during the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the late 1989 and early 1990. Kashmiri Pandits were gang-raped and murdered by JKLF and Islamist insurgents. Of the approximately 300,000 to 600,000 Hindus living in the Kashmir Valley in 1990, only 2,000–3,000 remain there in 2016.
After the revocation of Article 370 and 35A that gives special status to Jammu & Kashmir, various Kashmir separatists and Pakistan leaders talked about the human rights violation in the Kashmir by Indian authorities but they forgot the pain of Kashmiri Pandits. One of them is American stand-up comedian Hasan Minhaj. In his political comedy show, that Kashmir has become a pawn between the politics of two countries – India and Pakistan. His video went viral on social media.
Now Bollywood actor and Kashmiri Pandit Anupam Kher has given his opinion on the other side of the Kashmir hold by Kashmiri Hindus that everyone ignores as everyone on the earth believes that Kashmir belongs to the Muslim people but they forget that Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris irrespective of the religion. Here’s Anupam Kher’s horrific story:
While giving a reply to Hasan Minhaj, Anupam Kher wrote along with his video that, “Dear @hasanminhaj !! I enjoy your act. Feel happy that an India born is capturing great audiences. Saw your latest clip & concern about Kashmir. Would love you to see another truth about #Kashmir. This is in Hindi. Hope you understand it. Thanks!”
