Anushka Sharma producer of web series Paatal Lok received a notice from Punjab and Haryana High Court. There was a petition saying that the series has tarnished the Sikh community in the third episode.
The web series Paatal Lok Produced by Anushka Sharma has been a lockdown sensation on Amazon Prime Video. But now the series in controversies one after another. She recently received a notice from Punjab Haryana high court for defaming the image of Sikhs in one of its series. Where on one hand the web series is been praised all over, another hand it is stuck between the controversies. The latest case is about the third episode of the show.
The petitioner has put an objection for the third episode of the series titled, “A History of Violence” petitioner’s lawyer Gurdeepinder Singh Dhillon has said caste-based clashes have shown two communities with the intent of creating communal disharmony. Therefore the actress got the notice from the court.
Let us tell you that Paatal Lok released on Amazon Prime Video on May 15. It is Anushka Sharma’s debut OTT production. The plot of the story is about a cop who gets a chance to prove himself when he lands a murder case to solve. The series features Neeraj Kabi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee, Ishwak Singh, and Gul Panag. The actress’s next OTT production will be the horror film Bulbul on Netflix.
