India’s Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee Left The World, Dies at 93

The man of words, the poet and the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away today. He was 93 years old. He was also the Bharat Ratna awardee and was admitted to the AIIMS hospital in New Delhi for the past few weeks for a urinary tract infection. He was also a diabetic patient. In addition, his urine output was on the lower side.

Confirming the saddening news, the hospital in a statement said,

”It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 05: 05 pm on 16.08.2018.”

During the last 24 hours, he was put on life support system by the doctors after his condition became critical. One day before his death, on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited AIIMS to inquire about Vajpayee’s health.  Today morning, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu and BJP leaders, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh, party president Amit Shah and BJP veteran L.K. Advani, also visited the AIIMS to know about the health status of the veteran.

Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had only one functional kidney. He suffered a stroke in 2009, weakening his cognitive abilities. Later, he developed dementia. He was a great leader of our country and served his life for the betterment of Indian politics.
