Before becoming a successful actor, Ayushmann Khurrana have been the jack of all trades and have tried and tested his luck in many professions. He worked as an RJ, host for few years and during the process he also aspired to be a singer. In the episode of singing reality show Indian Idol 13, the actor spilled the beans that he auditioned on the very show but was then rejected along with singer Neha Kakkar who is ironically the judge of the show.
Speaking to the judges, he says, “Neha and I were rejected on Indian Idol on the same day. We travelled together in the train, from Mumbai to Delhi. There were 50 of us, who were rejected together and we were all travelling.” He further adds, “Neha aaj judge hai aur main yahaan (Neha is a judge today and I am here too). So this really means a lot.”
Ayushmann bagged the 2004 Roadies title and kicked off a career in anchoring. He made his debut in the Hindi film industry with 201’s Vicky Donor. While Neha Kakkar was among the top 12 finalists in season two in Indian Idol 2005. She got her breakthrough with Second Hand Jawani song in Cocktail (2012). The duo have risen from the grassroot but the starting point served to be the auditions in 2004.
