The latest movie Doctor G, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh is performing well at the box office, as reported by the trade sources. The film garnered Rs 3.87 crore on the first day, later witnessed a elevation by weekend. It has been estimated that the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer has managed to oversee a jump of 20-30 percent from its initial day of release which is Rs 4.75- Rs 5.15 crore approx, to a whopping Rs 8.50 crore.
A report published by Bollywood Hungama stated that the movie is aiming to manage a measured growth of another 15-20 by Sunday, i.e., around 15 crore.
Meanwhile a report also mentioned that the film had gained the most from its multiplex chains, however, is doing equally good at the major belts.
The line of actors are also a focal of attention in the Anubhati Kashyap directorial. The film also stars Shefali Shah, Sheeba Chaddha and Rakul Preet Singh, in the pivotal roles.
Shubhra Gupta, a film critic from the Indian Express group reviewed the film saying, “By the time Dr G realises his true yin-yang potential, it settles down. The second half is an uneasy tonal switch, featuring the problems around an underage pregnancy, which feels like it was created to tell us just how far the hero has travelled from where he began.”
Even though the film has been receiving mixed reviews from the critics, it has managed to capture eyeballs equally well. Despite not establishing a strategic marketing plan, the word of mouth is proved to be propitious for the film.
After an unsuccessful feat at the box office for the past two years, Doctor G is gradually serving to be a silver lining for Ayushmann Khurrana.
