After dating for 12 years, Greta Gerwig, the director of Barbie, got married in December to her longtime partner Noah Baumbach, according to People magazine.
Following their meeting on the sets of the latter’s 2010 romantic comedy Greenberg, Gerwig and Baumbach started dating in 2011. Together, the two worked on movies including Frances Ha, Barbie, Mistress America, and White Noise.

Baumbach’s film Frances Ha (2012) had also garnered Greta a nomination for a Golden Globe. She appeared in the comedic drama as a struggling dancer.
In March 2019, the couple had their first son. They said in a July interview with Elle UK that their second son was born in February 2023.

In 2020, Baumbach and Gerwig both received one Oscar nomination. For his film Marriage Story, Gerwig received a nomination for Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture, while the latter received a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Little Women.

Greta is currently collaborating with Netflix on two movie versions of The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. In contrast, Noah is currently collaborating on his fourth Netflix feature alongside actors Adam Sandler and George Clooney.
