After much efforts and anticipation films have been seeing a silver lining at the end of the tunnel. With Barbie and Oppenheimer opening at bright ways at the box office it’s time again to create for the cinema.
Barbie, a fashionista and Oppenheimer about the mystical invention of atomic bomb had made the audience rush to the theaters with all fervour and satisfaction. Warner Bros.’ Barbie was winning the top spot at the US and Canadian theaters, collected $155 million reported Comscore on Sunday. While Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, minted a considerable $80.5 million.
Post the Barbenheimer flood of memes and excitement amongst the audience, the theaters have been houseful and promoted theatergoers in the best way possible. This has marked a massive victory since Avengers: Endgame was released in April 2019.
Some other victorious films include Sound of Freedom, which talks about child sex trafficking, and have managed to mint $20.1 million in its third weekend, as per ComScore. This has beaten the summer success of Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, whose earning falls at $19.5 million.
Barbie was greatly promoted, with a massive replica of her Dreamhouse situated in Malibu, California, to pink boxes arranged outside theaters keeping a temporary picture section adorned for the fans. Many appeared in pink for the film.
Oppenheimer performed well in Imax as per the reports it is running successfully in the Indian box office. It made three-week lock on Imax theaters across the domestic theaters. More than half of the film’s tickets were brought in the range of premium large format screens, which circumscribed for over 26 percent of the total theatrical performance.
