A Florida family’s garage was broken into by a ravenous black bear, who gorged himself on pizza, burger patties, bread, and vegan ice cream.
Konrad Umpenhour, a resident of Florida, received an error message suggesting that something was in the way when he tried to use a smartphone app to shut the garage door at his North Naples home, where he lives with his parents. Umpenhour and his parents discovered a bear that had entered their garage after checking security camera footage, according to UPI.
“The bear went in there, had his little meal, then my son scared him away. It was vegan stuff, he took a thing of vegan ice cream!,” averred Kurt Umpenhour, Konrad’s dad in conversation to NBC2.
Konrad added, “If the timing was any different, I would’ve been face to face with the bear, maybe had a new pet. Hey, if it likes my ice cream maybe I can tame it!”
In Lake Mary, Florida, a three-legged bear named Tripod was seen on camera breaking into a house and consuming food and drink. Josaury Faneite-Diglio learned of the bear’s presence inside her house thanks to a notice from a security camera.
This event was also documented on camera and posted to Instagram. The bear is seen entering the house through a makeshift entrance as the clip begins. It initially appears perplexed, then slowly moves towards the refrigerator and gorges himself on plum sauce, mangoes, and other foods. Fortunately, nobody was harmed during the event. Later, the bear departed by itself.
