Bollywood Films M.S.Dhoni and Sarbjit Have Made Entries to The Oscars

We are so glad to share this news coming directly from Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). Yes, yesterday 336 feature films were released in AMPAS, out of which only these two movies got selected in the long list of Oscars.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Sarbjit’ have made entries in the nominations for the category of the best picture Oscar on Wednesday.

However, there are some criteria in order to the coveted Academy list, these feature films must have played in a commercial theater in Los Angeles County between December 31, 2016 to January 6, 2017. One interesting thing about these films is they are the Biopics and obviously based on real events that made audiences acknowledge these movies even from Hollywood.

Apart from that, Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair’s ‘Queen of Katwe’ has also bagged an entry to the list. This film is also based on a real-life inspiring story of an underdog from the streets of rural Uganda.
