Jungkook, the newest member of BTS, is getting ready to surprise fans to a new remix of his smash song Seven. For the upcoming remix version of Seven, Jungkook will work with Swedish DJ Alesso after partnering with Latto before. It will be released on August 25 at KST 12:30.
Verifying the news, BTS’ agency BigHit Music posted on Weverse, “Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are excited to announce the release of Jungkook’s Seven (ft Latto)- Alesso remix.
“Seven (ft Latto)- Alesso remix- is a reinterpretation of the original track in the Progressive House genre produced by Alesso. This remix stands out with its dynamic build-up and drop sections, featuring the use of synth bass and vocal chops, creating a refreshing summer vibe. Experience an impassioned sound fit for hot summer nights.”
“We thank you so much for the love you have shown for ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ and look forward to your continued anticipation for Jungkook’s upcoming solo endeavors,” the agency wrote.
A day after accusations of plagiarism against Jungkook’s Seven, news of the new remix version is announced. Earlier, some stories said that the song was stolen. All allegations of plagiarism have been rejected by the agency.
According to reports, the song Time of Mask by Fin KL, which is the primary piece of Jungkook’s Seven, was appropriated. Time of Mask was released in 2000, whilst Seven was released as a single on July 14, 2023. In response to the allegations, BigHit Music stated, according to Soompi, “We would like to inform you that the claims of copyright infringement regarding Jungkook’s Seven are not true.”
“Seven is a song that was made through the collaboration of five foreign composers, and it is a creation that is completely unrelated to the song on a domestic album from 24 years ago like some are claiming. They are one-sided claims that do not meet any criteria such as substantial similarity and principles in determining plagiarism,” they had stated.
With the digital song Seven, Jungkook made his solo debut. The music CD included rapper Latto and actress Han So-hee. The song also has an explicit version that was made public. By breaking and setting several records for the vocalist as a solo artist, Seven created history. After its debut, the song even reached the top of many international charts.
