Chemotherapy might not be the best option in the fight against cancer. According to The Free Thought Project, a new study shows that 50 percent of patients are killed by the drugs, not by the Cancer (disease). For the first time in history, the researchers from the Cancer Research UK and Public Health England performed a study analysing for the first time that the number of cancer patients who died within the 30 days of beginning Chemotherapy was died due to the treatment, not by cancer itself.

The Telegraph reported: “Around 2.4 percent of breast cancer patients and 8.4 percent of the lung cancer patients died within a month in England. Unfortunately, the death rate in many hospitals was far higher like in Melton Keynes, the death rate for lung cancer treatment was 50.9 per cent.

More depressing reports were from Cambridge University Hospitals where one in five breast cancer patients died from treatment. Dr Jem Rashbass, Cancer Lead for Public Health England said: “Chemotherapy is a powerful medication with significant side effects.”

Chemotherapy killed cancer patients

The adequacy of Chemotherapy depends on the type of cancer and the stage. The dosage of chemotherapy can be difficult: If the dose is too low, it will be ineffective against the tumour, whereas, at excessive doses, the side effects will prove intolerable to the patient.
