According to the latest update, there are reports that an FIR has been lodged against the makers of the newly released web series Tandav that features Saif Ali Khan Dimple Kapadia and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
After the teaser of the political drama Tandav released the netizens were quite curious to watch it. The web series features Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. But soon after the series was released on Friday it quickly triggered outrage. And the reason for this was the numerous things that hurt people’s sentiments. In fact, an FIR was also lodged against the series in Uttar Pradesh.
In connection to this, the Lucknow Police said. The FIR [lodged at the Hazratganj police station on Sunday] against Aparna Purohit, an official of Amazon, series director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, its writer Gaurav Solanki, and others.” Well, it was not just Lucknow but the rage was also seen in other places like Sitapur and Rae Bareli districts, and similar complaints against ‘Tandav’ have also been lodged.
Meanwhile, Mayawati who is the chief of the Bahujan Samaj Party has demanded that all the scenes in the show that are bothering people and are objectionable should be removed from the show. In a tweet, she said, “protests were being registered over some scenes of the web series, which hurts religious sentiments. So it would appropriate to remove the objectionable portions” Let us tell you that what actually bothered people was the way people dressed up to represent Hindu gods and goddesses… and the way they spoke. Which somewhere hurts religious sentiments”.
However, on Monday evening The cast and crew of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Tandav’ against whom the police complaints have been filed alleging that some scenes had “insulted Hindu gods and goddesses” made an apology stating that they had no intentions to do so. And they also didn’t want to offend religious beliefs or sentiments of any kind. Releasing a statement they said, “The cast and crew of ‘Tandav’ take cognizance of the concerns expressed by the people and unconditionally apologize if it has unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments.”
