1) Meena Kumari

The legendary actress of Indian cinema also known as the ‘Tragedy Queen’ died at a young age of 39. She was a great example of rich to rag. Meena Kumari and her husband (who never gave her the status of a wife) started a film project Pakeezah and put their all money in it when she was ok with her health. Her personal life was so disturbed that she became an alcoholic and damaged her liver. In 2006, he had to refinance the $200 million loan he secured from Bank of America to stave off bankruptcy. By 2009, Michael Jackson was neck deep in debt and was estimated to be owing closed to and at the time of death, he was estimated to owe close to $ 400- 500 million in loans and mortgages.

3) Judy Garland

Hollywood star best known for The Wizard of Oz, Garland was one of the biggest celebrities of her time. Unfortunately, at some point during her successful career she developed a drug addiction, and by the time she died in 1989, her house was repossessed and she accumulated around $4 million in debt.

4) AK Hangal

One of the prominent names of Indian cinema. Avtar Kishan Hangal appeared in over 225 films before slowly retiring from movies. In 2012 he passed away at the age of 97 in a hospital without money to pay for his treatment.
